National Security Expert Jaime Cheshire Joins Invariant

Washington, D.C., June 2, 2026 —
Invariant today announced Jaime Cheshire will join the firm to oversee the national security government relations practice. Cheshire is an esteemed national security expert with 25 years of service at the Central Intelligence Agency and House Armed Services Committee who comes to Invariant from the Afghanistan War Commission, where she served as executive director. Prior to that role, Cheshire served as executive secretary of the CIA, where she oversaw the Operations Center, providing 24-7 support to agency leadership and the White House. At Invariant, Cheshire will bring her experience to clients seeking counsel and solutions for real-time complexities happening within the defense and national security ecosystem.
“In her roles on Capitol Hill, at the CIA, and leading the Afghanistan War Commission, Jaime has seen firsthand what our warfighters need to succeed—and what the defense industrial base must deliver,” said Lindley Kratovil Sherer, who oversees Invariant’s government relations practice. “Our clients are on the front lines of that mission, and I’m thrilled to have Jaime join the team to help them succeed.”
At CIA, Cheshire also served for four years as director in the Office of Congressional Affairs, where she led the Agency’s priorities on Capitol Hill and advised senior leadership on congressional engagement and oversight matters. For her service at CIA, she received the Presidential Rank Award and the Director’s Award three times.
During her tenure on Capitol Hill, Cheshire served on the House Armed Services Committee as a Senior Advisor to Chairmen Mac Thornberry and Buck McKeon, advising on eight National Defense Authorization Acts and supporting key oversight efforts, including multiple trips to Afghanistan.
“This is a unique window of time to advocate on behalf of clients on Capitol Hill and support forward-leaning and cutting-edge companies in the defense industrial base,” said Cheshire. “Opportunities are on the table that have not existed in recent years, and I look forward to seizing that moment and helping deliver results.”
From March to September 2021, Cheshire completed the 2,200-mile hike of the Appalachian Trail, a lifelong goal.
