Christian Lovell serves on Invariant's Food and Agriculture team, advising clients on federal appropriations, legislative strategy, and regulatory issues affecting the food and agriculture sector.

Focus Areas 

• Advises clients on federal agriculture appropriations strategy, helping them navigate the Congressional funding process.

• Advances client objectives through coalition building, stakeholder engagement, and Congressional advocacy.

• Draws on policy, advocacy, and regenerative agriculture experience to help clients build support for food and agriculture priorities.

Christian has worked with many leading agricultural nonprofits, including most recently as Executive Director of the Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition, where he secured and managed federal and private funding to advance regenerative agriculture, producer education, and voluntary on-farm conservation efforts. Prior to his nonprofit leadership roles, Christian served as Legislative Director to House Appropriations Chair Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT), managing her agriculture, nutrition, energy, and environmental policy portfolios, and as Legislative Director at the National Governors Association. He also brings firsthand production agriculture experience as a farmer and remains actively involved in his family’s registered Hereford cattle operation in West Central Illinois.
