James O’Brien leverages his experience advising senior congressional leaders and shaping high-stakes legislative initiatives to help clients navigate international trade and tax policy. James deeply understands the complexities of the legislative process and works with clients to develop strategies that align with their policy objectives.

Before joining Invariant, James was a professional staff member for the House Committee on Ways and Means, where he advised the Republican conference on international trade policy. He previously served as Legislative Director for Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX), where he played a key role in defending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) and advancing tax policy initiatives.
